The environment we create in our homes sets the tones for so much of our
lives and the lives of our loved ones. This site has truly changed peoples
lives. Time marches on whether we choose to do something with it or not,
and if you struggle with feeling in control of your home you may want to give
the old Flylady a visit. Even if you feel you are pretty organized and do
things pretty well you still may want to check it out. My friend Holl Doll, who
is totally type A loves it because it makes her far more efficient and running
the house and it just takes less time when following her Flylady principles.
I however go back because I have to. I forget how I am supposed to do
things, fall in to my bad slobby habits and get way too distracted and BOOM,
next thing you know my house is a mess again and feels totally out of
control.   Flylady helps me dig my way back out again to make things
managable. I have resented this for years because I think this site is for a
different kind of person, not me. I'm too smart and sophisticated to need
some corny advice about lowly housewivery. Besides that woman is just
way too cheerful. About a week ago the light dinged on and I realized, ok,
however dorky this is, it works. I wish I had tried it and stuck to it sooner.
There is probably room for lots of regrets of how it would have positively
affected my family and what interesting things I could have done if only I had
used Flylady sooner. The upside is now that I have been using her my house
runs better, my family is happier and I am so busy enjoying doing interesting
things that there is no room or desire for regrets. I hope you find something
wonderful in this too.

and has transformed the lives of people I know. Yes even the
slobbiest ones.

What to expect if you decide to join FlyLady

FlyLady uses the Sidetracked Home Executive (SHE)
system as a basis for organizing her home and her life.
She adds humor, spunk, and a dose of common sense to
her advice, but be prepared - FlyLady does not allow
whining. You have to get off your "Franny"!

MY THEORY IF YOU CARE TO HEAR IT:

I was raised in daycare and then a latchkey kid. Although technically I had a
home and parents, they both worked and were pretty burnt by the time they
came home. Everyone sort of went their own way....

I think that a lot of knowing how to run a home is learnt by
participating and observing the running of a home.

So often the best of us don't really run our homes.
Sometimes it is just a place to rush in and out of flopping down stuff,
grabbing a shower, grub and far too few zzzzs.
Really doesn't that sound more like a flophouse?
So many people that I love and admire, who are motivated,
well educated and 'successful' live in this our of synch this way.
